It's been quite a while in planning, but we've finally created a facebook page and it’s now live.
When it comes to all things internet I've always been a great believer that if you aren't adding value to what your contributing to the internet then it's not worth doing, the internet needs another person posting selfies in the same manor a sinking ship needs more water, so when it came to planning our facebook presence we felt it was important that we waited until we were in a position to put the right team of people together to admin and post on the page that would mean we would be bringing something noteworthy to our customers and not just another collection of re-posted cute puppy photos.
So what will you find on our facebook page? We aim to bring you insights into the latest products arriving in Glenkrag, as they become available to order, we'll bring you special offers, we'll be posting information about fish, fish stocks and offers on them and any trade news or items we’ve seen in the media which we believe are of interest to the pet trade.
There are things we won’t be doing too, we won't be posting any pricing on our facebook or direct links to anywhere that pricing could be found, we don't believe it’s in the interest of either ourselves or you the retailer to have trade prices branded about the internet, we'd ask that people neither ask for pricing on replies to posts or respond to anyone else's requests for pricing information, it's all available on our website away for retailers to see.

| Animology - Presented by Ryan |
As part of the recent run of presentations at our Tele Sales meetings, it was Ryan’s turn to take centre stage and present his given subject which was the Animology grooming range.
Ryan is the most recent recruit to our sales department having only joined the company in the later end of last year but spoke like a seasoned professional as he went through the range at the sales meeting. He explained that the Animology brand was also fairly new to the Pet Trade having been launched in 2010 with just 8 skus which has grown in recent years to over 40 skus covering shampoos, wipes, scissors and also supplements.
Ryan explained that the 6 most popular in the range are Stink Bomb Deodorising Spray, White Wash Shampoo, Puppy Love Shampoo, Flea & Tick Shampoo & Puppy Fresh Deodorising Spray & Fox Poo Shampoo, these are the lines he’d recommend if you didn’t already list the product and wanted to take it on.
The ethos of the Company is to source and produce locally. 95% Of their products are sourced within an hours drive of their premises in Preston, Lancashire.
All their Shampoos are PH Balanced specifically for Canine Skin and they deliberately use a Low Foam Formula that creates lots of Creamy lather and rather than lots of foam. This greatly reduces the time and water required to rinse the coat. Something that Professionals Groomers are pleased about.
All the Shampoos contain a built on conditioner with pro vitamin B5 AND ALL THE SHAMPOOS TARGET THE ROOT CAUSE OF “Doggy Odour†and not just mask the it with fragrance.
The Animology range comes in a distinctive and stylish black packaging that wouldn’t look out of place in a beauty salon, the packaging sports the emblem of the England Groom Team who compete in competitions across Europe.
They have recently been nominated finalists for 3 Export Business awards a feat they're extremely proud of beating 100s of other candidates to get to these stages.
Ryan did a great job in his first presentation on front of the Tele Sales team and is now well versed on the Animology range, feel free to give him a call and he chat to him about the range.

| Pooch & Mutt and Glenkrag in the Media |
Since bringing in the Pooch & Mutt Range in April the partnership between Glenkrag and Pooch & Mutts has enjoyed quite a bit of trade press coverage, I've seen it in Pet Product Marketing Magazine, Pet Trade World E-zine and Pet Trade Extra's website.
The following is an extract from the peice on Pet Trade Extra
"Pooch and Mutt has announced that its range of seven, ethically-made, premium dog treats is now available through Glenkrag, the largest wholesaler to the pet, aquatic and garden trade in Ireland.
With Pooch and Mutt's success in the British pet industry, it is no surprise that they have teamed up with the big pet wholesaler to expand into Ireland.
Manging director Guy Blaskey states: “We are very proud to have Pooch and Mutt treats in the Republic of Ireland.
"By teaming up with Glenkrag Ltd, Ireland's leading pet wholesaler, Pooch and Mutt treats will now be available to dogs outside of the UK. We are very pleased to help more dogs lead happy, healthy lives."
Pooch and Mutt's mini bone-shaped biscuits are hand-baked and low in calorie, so owners don't have to worry about giving their dog too many treats.
They are wheat-gluten free, so the range of treats can be suitable for dogs with allergies and food restrictions.
Each colourful tube of Pooch and Mutt treats has natural additives to help with specific issues dogs may encounter, such as the top selling “Fresh Breath†from the range of seven treats. The ingredients of parsley and peppermint oil help to combat bad breath in dogs.
The seven treats are available in brightly coloured 125g tubes, with approximately 150 treats in each for dogs to enjoy."

| 1 Week Left of our Christmas PreSell |
It may be begining to look a lot like summer more so than Christmas, but the end of our Christmas Pre-Sell is in sight with just one week to go.
Many of our customers have already placed Pre-sell orders, and we thank you for those. The usual top selling lines like the Good Boy Stockings have again proved to be popular, but this year there has also been a fantastic response to the Ancol dog coats and collars which are new for 2014.
Our Pre-Sell only runs for one more week, so be sure to get your order in now to avoid missing out.
This year orders must be received by the 27th of June and delivery to store will be week commencing 20th of October. We’re once again offering extended credit on Christmas orders received by the 27th of June, so you can order now and pay by the 5th of January 2015 (* provided your standard trading account is up to date).

| Hagen Catit Cabrio - Presented by Sharon |
The presentation on the Hagen Catit Cabrio was enjoyed by the team on Friday 23rd May. Sharon Lammey who is a Cat parent was the perfect choice to road test this beauty. The Cabrio has as many features as a top end Porsche. Open Top Access, Solid but transparent door with one handed locking mechanism and designed to be secured with a cars seat belt were only a few of the unique selling points unearthed during Sharon's talk.
The Catit Cabrio is available in two colours, comes beautifully boxed, with only a few minutes needed to fully assemble. Ssssshhhh. Sharon also let it slip to the team that the Catit Cabrio would be on the Glenkrag promotions from Monday 9th June to Friday 4th of July.
Sales Tip: Take one out of the box and build it up for display, while the fully coloured box is nice, it's a much more impressive carrier when you see it build up.

| Glenkrag Receives Award From Aquael |
At the Interzoo show in Nuremberg, Germany from 29th May to 1st June one of our key Aquatics suppliers, Aquael celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the company by putting on a festive banquet for several of their customers.
As well as toasts, gestures of good wishes and a huge cake, there was also awards for the company's loyal clients, amongst the recipients was Glenkrag receiving an award for Outstanding Support and Performance for the Aquael Brand.
Aquael also had a number of new products on display at the show and I'm sure some of those will make their way into the Glenkrag portfolio in the coming months alongside the extensive range we already carry.
We'd like to once again extend our congratulations to Aquael on their 30 years in business.

| Natures Menu - Presented by Daniel |
It's a few weeks ago now, but on Friday 23rd of May it was Daniel's turn to take centre stage at the weekly Tele Sales meeting and present his assigned range.
Daniel gave a great account of the Natures Menu brand, Focussing primarily on The Award winning Country Hunter range of Freeze Dried Complete Meals, Mixers and Tasty Meaty Treats. The list of fresh ingredients including Venison, Blueberries, Duck breast, Plums and Cranberries had most of the team feeling hungry, with a couple succumbing to sampling the odd nibble or two during the presentation. After Daniels detailed presentation everyone agreed that the Natures Menu brand deserves all the accolades that's been bestowed upon it and the Pet Trade had a brand that was genuinely wholesome, tasty and full of pet goodness.
Some of the Natures Menu range that Daniel was presenting included the Country Hunter Range which is currently on Promotion at 15% off as well, why not speak to Daniel and see what he recommends and take advantage of the offer.

| Ocean Nutrition - presented by Ant |
In the second of the presentations at the Tele Sales meetings, Friday 16th of May seen Ants turn to take centre stage and talk about his given topic, which was Ocean Nutrition's Frozen Fish Food. Drawing on his experience of a few years of being a dedicated Fish Sales person within our sales team Ant explained the benefits Ocean Nutrition has over other brands. Ocean Nutrition is Flash Frozen at Minus 40 degrees, others are slowly frozen down to Minus 18, the slower process results in more damage to the Food and a reduction in its quality and goodness. Although Bloodworm is by far the largest seller, Ant suggested that with whopping 60% Protein the Best product should be Artemia (Brine Shrimp) compared to Bloodworms with only 8% protein. Ant also showed examples of the Ocean Nutrition Cubes in Water and compared them against other brands. It was noted that the Ocean Nutrition Cubes didn't discolour the water when dissolved unlike the others.
Ant will no doubt also be able to share this knowledge with his customers, so if you're speaking to Ant and you don't already stock Ocean Nutrition Frozen Fish food or you want to extend your range of it why not ask him about it.

Pooch and Mutt's mini bone-shaped biscuits are hand-baked and low in calorie, so owners don't have to worry about giving their dog too many treats.
They are wheat-gluten free, so the range of treats can be suitable for dogs with allergies and food restrictions.
Each colourful tube of Pooch and Mutt treats has natural additives to help with specific issues dogs may encounter, such as the top selling “Fresh Breath†from the range of seven treats. The ingredients of parsley and peppermint oil help to combat bad breath in dogs.
The seven treats are available in brightly coloured 125g tubes, with approximately 150 treats in each for dogs to enjoy."

| 1 Week Left of our Christmas PreSell |
It may be begining to look a lot like summer more so than Christmas, but the end of our Christmas Pre-Sell is in sight with just one week to go.
Many of our customers have already placed Pre-sell orders, and we thank you for those. The usual top selling lines like the Good Boy Stockings have again proved to be popular, but this year there has also been a fantastic response to the Ancol dog coats and collars which are new for 2014.
Our Pre-Sell only runs for one more week, so be sure to get your order in now to avoid missing out.
This year orders must be received by the 27th of June and delivery to store will be week commencing 20th of October. We’re once again offering extended credit on Christmas orders received by the 27th of June, so you can order now and pay by the 5th of January 2015 (* provided your standard trading account is up to date).

| Hagen Catit Cabrio - Presented by Sharon |
The presentation on the Hagen Catit Cabrio was enjoyed by the team on Friday 23rd May. Sharon Lammey who is a Cat parent was the perfect choice to road test this beauty. The Cabrio has as many features as a top end Porsche. Open Top Access, Solid but transparent door with one handed locking mechanism and designed to be secured with a cars seat belt were only a few of the unique selling points unearthed during Sharon's talk.
The Catit Cabrio is available in two colours, comes beautifully boxed, with only a few minutes needed to fully assemble. Ssssshhhh. Sharon also let it slip to the team that the Catit Cabrio would be on the Glenkrag promotions from Monday 9th June to Friday 4th of July.
Sales Tip: Take one out of the box and build it up for display, while the fully coloured box is nice, it's a much more impressive carrier when you see it build up.

| Glenkrag Receives Award From Aquael |
At the Interzoo show in Nuremberg, Germany from 29th May to 1st June one of our key Aquatics suppliers, Aquael celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the company by putting on a festive banquet for several of their customers.
As well as toasts, gestures of good wishes and a huge cake, there was also awards for the company's loyal clients, amongst the recipients was Glenkrag receiving an award for Outstanding Support and Performance for the Aquael Brand.
Aquael also had a number of new products on display at the show and I'm sure some of those will make their way into the Glenkrag portfolio in the coming months alongside the extensive range we already carry.
We'd like to once again extend our congratulations to Aquael on their 30 years in business.

| Natures Menu - Presented by Daniel |
It's a few weeks ago now, but on Friday 23rd of May it was Daniel's turn to take centre stage at the weekly Tele Sales meeting and present his assigned range.
Daniel gave a great account of the Natures Menu brand, Focussing primarily on The Award winning Country Hunter range of Freeze Dried Complete Meals, Mixers and Tasty Meaty Treats. The list of fresh ingredients including Venison, Blueberries, Duck breast, Plums and Cranberries had most of the team feeling hungry, with a couple succumbing to sampling the odd nibble or two during the presentation. After Daniels detailed presentation everyone agreed that the Natures Menu brand deserves all the accolades that's been bestowed upon it and the Pet Trade had a brand that was genuinely wholesome, tasty and full of pet goodness.
Some of the Natures Menu range that Daniel was presenting included the Country Hunter Range which is currently on Promotion at 15% off as well, why not speak to Daniel and see what he recommends and take advantage of the offer.

| Ocean Nutrition - presented by Ant |
In the second of the presentations at the Tele Sales meetings, Friday 16th of May seen Ants turn to take centre stage and talk about his given topic, which was Ocean Nutrition's Frozen Fish Food. Drawing on his experience of a few years of being a dedicated Fish Sales person within our sales team Ant explained the benefits Ocean Nutrition has over other brands. Ocean Nutrition is Flash Frozen at Minus 40 degrees, others are slowly frozen down to Minus 18, the slower process results in more damage to the Food and a reduction in its quality and goodness. Although Bloodworm is by far the largest seller, Ant suggested that with whopping 60% Protein the Best product should be Artemia (Brine Shrimp) compared to Bloodworms with only 8% protein. Ant also showed examples of the Ocean Nutrition Cubes in Water and compared them against other brands. It was noted that the Ocean Nutrition Cubes didn't discolour the water when dissolved unlike the others.
Ant will no doubt also be able to share this knowledge with his customers, so if you're speaking to Ant and you don't already stock Ocean Nutrition Frozen Fish food or you want to extend your range of it why not ask him about it.
